SW Consult is a growing engineering consultancy specialising in remedial, structural and building related engineering across the existing built environment.
We work across residential strata, commercial, government, industrial, education and healthcare projects, delivering practical engineering solutions backed by strong technical expertise.We are looking for an experienced Senior Remedial Engineer to join our team and take a leading role across a diverse portfolio of projects.This is a senior technical and client facing position suited to an engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of complex remedial projects from the initial investigation and diagnosis through to design, tendering, construction and completion.You will work directly with clients, contractors and other consultants, lead the technical delivery of projects, provide guidance to junior engineers and help shape the continued growth and development of SW Consult.Key ResponsibilitiesLead detailed site inspections, building investigations and condition assessmentsDiagnose building defects, structural issues and deterioration, and develop practical remediation strategiesPrepare and review engineering reports, technical advice and recommendationsDevelop repair methodologies, technical specifications and detailed scopes of workManage remedial projects from investigation and design through tendering, construction and completionProvide contract administration and superintendent services during constructionReview contractor submissions, variations, progress claims and technical queriesAttend project meetings and provide clear, practical technical advice to clients and stakeholdersLiaise directly with strata managers, committees, building managers, contractors, architects and other consultantsManage project budgets, programmes,
deliverables and client expectationsUndertake technical reviews and provide guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineersContribute to the development and improvement of internal engineering standards, systems and technical documentationBuild strong client relationships and contribute to repeat business and future business development opportunitiesAbout YouWe are looking for someone who combines strong technical capability with the confidence to manage projects, communicate with clients and make sound engineering decisions.You will ideally have:A minimum of 7 years of relevant engineering experience, including substantial experience in remedial, structural or existing building engineeringA Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related engineering disciplineCurrent RPEQ registration or Chartered Engineer statusA current Construction White CardStrong knowledge of building structures, concrete, steel, masonry, waterproofing, corrosion, facade systems and common building defectsDemonstrated experience investigating building defects and developing practical remediation solutionsStrong experience preparing technical reports, scopes of work, specifications and tender documentationExperience providing contract administration or superintendent servicesStrong commercial awareness and the ability to manage project budgets and programmesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsConfidence communicating directly with clients, committees,
contractors and senior stakeholdersThe ability to independently manage multiple projects and competing prioritiesStrong attention to detail and sound technical judgementA genuine commitment to delivering high quality engineering and client serviceDesirable Skills and ExperienceExperience in any of the following would be highly regarded:Strata and body corporate projectsFacade remediation and building envelope investigationsConcrete repair and corrosion related remediationWaterproofing investigations and remediationWorking Safely at Heights certificationMentoring or supervising engineersExisting relationships within the remedial, strata, construction or property industriesSalary- $140,000 – $175,000 per yearWhy Join SW Consult?
