Electrical Design Engineer – ASP Level 3Newcastle or Parramatta | Full-time | Hybrid flexibilityAbout Power SolutionsPower Solutions is an established electrical engineering consultancy with more than 35 years' experience delivering high-quality electrical engineering and design solutions across NSW.Our strong relationships with customers, construction contractors and electricity distributors have helped us build a strong reputation and become a market leader in the ASP Level 3 space.Due to continued growth, we're looking for an Electrical Design Engineer – ASP Level 3 to join our team on a full-time basis.Reporting to the Technical Director, you'll work on a diverse range of projects across NSW, taking ownership of designs and working closely with clients, contractors and electricity distributors to deliver practical, compliant and high-quality solutions.The RoleYou'll be responsible for delivering projects from initial site investigation through to design completion and approval.Your responsibilities will include:Project managing electrical design projects from commencement through to completionProviding electrical engineering and ASP Level 3 design solutions for our clientsDelivering high-quality designs within agreed project timeframesWorking collaboratively with our engineering and design teamCommunicating with clients, contractors and electricity distributorsUndertaking site inspections, investigations and measurementsIdentifying and managing safety-in-design risksMaking practical and technically sound decisions throughout the design processThe ProjectsYou'll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of technically interesting projects across NSW,



including:Asset relocation and network augmentation projectsResidential and industrial developments comprising 1,000+ lotsOverhead and underground distribution network projectsProjects ranging from 415V through to 132kVThis is a role where you'll have genuine exposure to a broad range of electrical infrastructure and the chance to develop your technical and project management capability.What We're Looking ForWe're ideally looking for an experienced ASP Level 3 designer with accreditation across the NSW electricity distribution networks.We recognise that candidates with this combination of experience and accreditation are highly sought after and relatively rare.
For the right person, we are also open to candidates who don't yet hold every accreditation but have strong ASP3 experience, the right technical capability and a willingness to obtain additional accreditations.Our ideal candidate will have:ASP Level 3 Registration with the NSW Office of Energy and Climate ChangeASP Level 3 accreditation with Endeavour Energy, Ausgrid and Essential EnergyBachelor of Engineering (Electrical) or equivalentExperience delivering ASP Level 3 designs within the NSW electricity distribution industryStrong knowledge of NSW electricity distributor network standards and the NSW Contestability FrameworkDemonstrated project management experienceExperience with overhead and underground distribution and transmission designNER registration, or eligibility for registration, within the Electrical categoryMinimum 2 years' experience in the NSW power distribution industryDon't have every accreditation?
