This role would particularly suit an experienced accountant living locally on the North Shore who wants to work closer to home and family without the daily commute into the CBD.
The Chance
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant who can step into a senior role and confidently manage a large and established portfolio of approximately 500 clients and entities.
This is a role for someone who is exceptionally organised, technologically capable and comfortable managing a busy workload with multiple priorities at the same time.
You need to be someone who takes genuine pride in their work.
Accuracy, presentation, responsiveness, organisation and following matters through to completion are extremely important to us.
This is not a position where you will be constantly supervised or reminded about deadlines.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership, stays on top of their workload and can be trusted to manage clients and responsibilities independently.

What We're Looking For
You will ideally have:




CA qualificationA minimum of 8 years' Australian public practice experienceStrong technical knowledge across taxation, compliance, tax planning and business advisoryExperience managing a substantial portfolio of clients and entitiesExcellent written and spoken English, with the confidence to communicate professionally with clientsExcellent technology skills and the ability to learn new software quicklyConfidence working in a modern, cloud-based and increasingly automated accounting environmentExceptional organisational skillsThe ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines and tasks simultaneouslyStrong time-management and prioritisation skillsThe ability to work efficiently without sacrificing accuracy or qualityStrong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality workA proactive approach to following up outstanding matters and keeping work movingThe ability to take ownership of tasks from beginning to completionA high level of personal responsibility and accountabilityThe ability to work independently without requiring constant supervisionA practical, solutions-focused mindsetThe ability to supervise, mentor and eventually build a team around you
Being tech-savvy is essential for this role.
We are looking for someone who embraces technology rather than avoids it.
You should be comfortable learning new systems, improving processes and using technology to work more efficiently.
Given the level of direct client contact involved, professional-level written and spoken English is also essential.
Your Responsibilities
You will:
Manage an established portfolio of approximately 500 clients and entitiesManage numerous jobs, deadlines and client requests concurrentlyPrioritise your workload and ensure deadlines are metBuild strong,



long-term relationships with clientsPrepare and review financial statements and income tax returnsManage tax planning and compliance requirementsProvide practical business and taxation adviceManage client workflow independentlyProactively follow up clients and outstanding informationReview work prepared by other accountantsMentor and develop junior and intermediate accountantsAssist in building and leading your own accounting teamUse technology and automation to improve efficiencyIdentify opportunities to improve our internal systems and processesWork closely with the Directors on more complex client matters
