No two days are the same in this dynamic role! One day youcould be helping a participant build their independent living skills and thenext day you could be out and about providing recreational support andcommunity access. This is a rewarding and varied role!
What you'll do: /n
/n
- Provideperson-centred support to participants
/n
- Assistparticipants in achieving their personal goals through meaningfulengagement
/n
- Promotecommunity inclusion and social engagement
/n
- Assistparticipants with community outings which may include recreationalactivities, appointments and religious activities
/n
- Assistparticipants with their daily living skills and activities within the home
/n
What you'll bring to the role: /n
/n
- Experienceworking in partnership with people with disabilities and their families
/n
- Experiencein the implementation of individuals support plans within a person centreative support framework
/n
- Experiencesupporting individuals with their emotional regulation and usingimplemented strategies for positive behaviour support
/n
- Experiencein supporting people with disability to actively engage in all aspects oftheir daily living
/n
- Abilityto work as part of a team as well as independently with a 'can doattitude'
/n
- Goodcomputer and report writing skills
/n
- Valid First Aid certificate (not older than 12 months)
/n
What you'll need: /n
/n
- Minimumof two years’ experience supporting people with disabilities
/n
- Australian Citizenship or Full and unrestricted working rights for Australia
/n
- Driver’slicence and vehicle for work use with comprehensive insurance
/n
- Demonstratedcompletion of manual handling training within the last 12 months is Desirable
/n
- CertificateIII in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
/n
- Specifictraining related to disability, e.g. finger spelling, autism or others
/n
- Mentalhealth experience is desirable
/n
- NDISWorker Screening Check
/n
- Certificateof the NDIS 'Quality, Safety & You' of the NDIS Workers Orientation Module
/n
- Identitywahighly recommend COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations for all workers.
