E-WASTE FORKLIFT OPERATOR / OPERATIONS TRAINEE

ReSource is looking for an experienced forklift operator ready to build a career in recycling. As our E-Waste Forklift Operator / Operations Trainee, you are on the forklift from your first shift, and you train towards becoming a multi-skilled production operator and trainer on one of the most advanced e-waste recycling lines in the country.

This is not an entry-level one. You arrive licensed and experienced on the forklift; we train you on everything else - the processing line, materials grading, mobile plant and, as you develop, how to pass those skills on. Training is mentor-led and on the job: you shadow experienced operators, practise under supervision and get signed off on each competency as you demonstrate it. A formal, documented training programme is being introduced progressively and you will transition into it as it rolls out.

Be clear about the split: this is not a sit-on-the-forklift-all-day job. Forklift work is part of every week, but a significant amount of your time will be on the processing floor - learning to run our advanced sorting lines, grading material and keeping the site clean and safe. If forklift time is all you want, this is not the role.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

- operate counterbalance forklifts safely from day one, moving pallets, cages and containers of material across the site;
- learn processing line roles, materials grading and protected operating practices through hands-on mentoring and supervised shifts;




- learn to run the site's advanced sorting equipment: X-ray, induction (eddy current), NIR and optical sorting lines;
- help supervisors with loading, sorting, plant operation support and cleaning of processing areas;
- identify, sort and segregate materials to safety and quality criteria;
- complete pre-start checks, toolbox talks, safety forms and accurate production and training records;
- follow site health, safety and fire procedures and take part in safety meetings and drills;
- recommend process improvements and report faults or hazards early; and
- as your skills develop, help train and support newer starters.

WHAT YOU NEED

- a current Australian LF forklift licence. This is essential - applications without one will not be considered;
- demonstrated experience operating forklifts in an industrial, warehouse, transport or recycling environment;
- full Australian working rights and a current driver licence;
- physical fitness for manual handling and industrial work, indoors and outdoors;
- reliability, punctuality and a genuine motivation to learn;
- clear spoken and written English for safety instructions and workplace communication; and
- a committed approach to safe work and good housekeeping.
