We're looking for an experienced Quality Engineer (Customer & Projects) to play a key role in delivering quality excellence across major customer projects throughout Australia and New Zealand.
As the Quality Engineer (Customer & Projects), you'll be the quality lead across the project lifecycle, from tender and design through to manufacturing, testing, delivery and commissioning. You'll work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure quality requirements are met, lead resolution of customer issues and drive continuous improvement across projects and operations. This is a highly visible role that combines technical quality expertise, customer engagement and project influence.
Key responsibilities
- Lead quality assurance activities across major customer projects
- Develop and manage project quality plans, quality gates and inspection requirements
- Support Factory Witness Testing (FWT) and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- Act as the key quality contact for customers, managing escalations and issue resolution
- Lead root cause investigations, 8D problem-solving and corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, lessons learned and customer feedback
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Service, Supply Chain and Project Management teams to deliver quality outcomes
About you
- Degree qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years' experience in Quality Engineering, Project Quality, Customer Quality or Manufacturing Quality
- Strong experience with customer issue resolution, root cause analysis and continuous improvement
- Knowledge of quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, A3 and corrective action methodologies
- Experience working in engineering, manufacturing, electrical or project delivery environments
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems
- Experience with switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, power distribution equipment or similar engineered products will be highly regarded
