About the Opportunity

The Facilities Services Manager position oversees building systems, services and physical infrastructure within the iconic State Library Victoria site in addition to storage premises in Ballarat. The role is responsible for hard and soft facilities management as well as capital works and repair programs. Reporting to the Manager – Property, the Facilities Services Manager will lead a small team and ensure that contracts, master plans and day‑to‑day facilities works are delivered effectively while maintaining Library operations. This includes supporting safe, compliant and financially sustainable management of the Library's physical assets and fostering collaborative, cooperative relationships across the Library.

About You

- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline (e.g. mechanical engineering, electrical, facilities management), or relevant project management accreditation, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Significant experience in life systems management (i.e. mechanical services, fire services), preferably within a heritage building environment.
- Proven capability in managing contracts, including ensuring that timelines, budgets and objectives are met.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, including relationship‑building that achieves positive project outcomes.
- Highly developed negotiation and problem‑solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to achieve successful outcomes.
- Sound understanding of the National Construction Code, state occupational health and safety legislation, and Essential Safety Measures.
