Key Responsibilities

- Preparingsurfacesincludingsanding,filling,sealing,andrepairingimperfectionsbeforepainting

- Removingoldpaint,wallpaper,andpreparingareasfornewfinishes
n
- Applyingpaints,varnishes,stains,andspecialtycoatingsusingbrushes,rollers,andsprayequipment
n
- Mixingandpreparingpaintstoachieverequiredcoloursandfinishes
n
- Applyingdecorativefinishes,texturedcoatings,epoxycoatings,andotherspecialtyfinishesasrequired
n
- Readingandinterpretingconstructiondrawings,specifications,andcolourschedules

- Ensuringcompletedpaintingworksmeetqualitystandardsandprojectrequirements
n
- Installingwallpaper,matchingpatterns,andcompletingdetailedfinishingwork
n
- Protectingsurroundingareasusingscaffolding,ladders,andprotectivecoverings
n
- Maintainingpaintingtools,equipment,andworkareasinaccordancewithsafetystandards
n
- Repairingminorsurfaces,windows,andcompletingrelatedfinishingtaskswhererequired

- Workingcollaborativelywithprojectmanagers,supervisors,andothertradesonsite

- FollowingallWHSrequirements,siteprocedures,andsafeworkpractices

- Monitoringmaterialusageandreportingprojectprogresstosupervisor

Requirements & Eligibility

- CertificateIIIinPaintingandDecoratingorequivalentrecognisedtradequalification
n
- Minimum1yearofexperienceincommercialpaintinganddecorating
n
- Strongexperienceusingbrush,roller,andspraypaintingtechniques
n
- Knowledgeofsurfacepreparationmethodsincludingsanding,filling,priming,andsealing
n
- Abilitytointerpretconstructiondrawings,specifications,andpaintschedules
n
- Experienceworkingoncommercialconstructionorinteriorfit-outprojects
n
- Abilitytoworksafelyatheightsandwithinactiveconstructionenvironments
n
- AbilitytoobtainaWhiteCard(GeneralConstructionInductionTraining)
n
- Strongattentiontodetailwithafocusonqualityfinishes
n
- Abilitytoworkindependentlyandaspartofateam

- Goodcommunicationskillsandabilitytoworkprofessionallywithsupervisorsandclients
