SALARY: $112,191- 128,537 p.a + Super + Leaseback

As Camden Council continues to experience rapid growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Strategic Planner to join our dynamic and high-performing Strategic Planning Branch.

Reporting to the Team Leader Strategic Planning and working within a collaborative team, the role presents opportunities to lead precinct planning in the Camden LGA's growth areas and drive the development of strategic land use policy that supports sustainable urban and rural growth across Camden. Drawing on expertise in urban release area planning, planning instruments and strategic planning, the position plays a key role in shaping Camden's future growth and development.

This role will see you delivering policy actions from Camden's Local Strategic Planning Statement, as well as reviewing and developing strategies and planning instruments for the Camden LGA and its growth precincts. It offers a unique opportunity to influence planning outcomes within one of Australia's fastest-growing councils.

Essential:

- Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, or related discipline and/ or extensive job-related experience
- Demonstrated understanding of new urban release area planning and associated principles
- Ability to manage complex projects, including the management of consultants, to achieve goals and meet deadlines in a consultative manner
- Demonstrated high level communication, interpersonal, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, holistically and creatively when working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects
- A sound working knowledge of, and/or experience in, the implementation of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 and the NSW Local Government Act 1993
- Strong focus on and commitment to quality customer service
- Demonstrated ability to apply EEO, WHS and ethical practice principles and to act with probity at all times

Desirable:

- Demonstrated skills and experience in the formulation and implementation of community consultation programs
- Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional development
