• Already doing manager-level work in a Room Leader role? | Make it official.
• Told ‘maybe next year’ about progression one too many times?
• Multiple centres across Perth | Mentored by highly experienced leaders and the GM
This role exists because someone just like you stepped up | Training to set you up for success
One of our Assistant Centre Managers was just promoted to Centre Manager. That is not a one-off. It is how Stride Early Learning works. Now we need a Room Leader ready to step into her shoes and start their own leadership story.
If you are a Room Leader already running the room like it is yours, mentoring newer educators, holding the standard when things get hard, and quietly wondering when someone will notice, we’re noticing..
About Stride Early Learning
Our Philosophy: Every great journey begins with a single step…
At Stride Early Learning, we provide high-quality childcare that prioritises the safeguarding and unique needs of every child. Our philosophy is rooted in thoughtful planning, proactive solutions, and a dedication to trust and transparency. We view mistakes as opportunities for growth and cultivate a culture that celebrates creativity, innovation, and collaboration.
Children at Stride enjoy a supportive learning environment where they feel safe, valued, and inspired to explore. Families are welcomed as partners in their child’s care, with open communication and access to resources to support their parenting journey. Our passionate team of educators work in a positive, joyful culture that encourages growth, accountability, and pride in their impact. Together, we strive to make a lasting difference, creating an enriching experience for everyone in our community.
What the role involves
As Assistant Centre Manager,
you will step out from one room into leadership across the whole centre, working alongside your Centre Manager and picking up real accountability from day one, including:
• Leading and supporting a team of educators across multiple rooms, not just your own
• Championing the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS) across the centre
• Acting as Responsible Person in Charge when your Centre Manager is away, with a structured training path to feel genuinely ready for it
• Building partnerships with families and the local community
• Getting hands-on with rostering, occupancy, and the operational side of running a centre
• Leading a solid, proactive child safety culture, not just following a policy folder
Why Room Leaders choose this path
You have already outgrown ‘just the room’. This is where you get the scope to match your capability, without being thrown in the deep end to prove it.
What you will get
• A structured 90-day leadership support program, so you are never left to sink or swim
• Real mentoring from experienced Centre Managers who want to see you succeed
• A genuine, mapped-out path toward Centre Manager, not a vague promise
• Multiple locations across Perth, so we can be flexible around the centre that works for you
• A values-led leadership team that backs its people publicly and often
What you will bring
• Current experience as a Room Leader,
or equivalent leadership experience in early childhood education
• A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or working towards one)
• Solid working knowledge of the EYLF and NQS
• A genuine, demonstrated commitment to child safety and wellbeing
• The confidence to lead a team, make decisions, and step up as Responsible Person in Charge when needed
Our commitment to child safety
Stride Early Learning is a child-safe organisation and we strongly uphold our child safety policies and procedures. We are committed to supporting each child to learn and develop in a safe environment, and there is a zero-tolerance culture of child maltreatment, abuse and neglect across our centres. Alignment with our child safety expectations will be explored throughout the recruitment process.
