We are excited to invite expressions of interest for the opportunity of Employment Pathways Case Manager. The role will be based at our South Terrace office, with travel to other Barkuma sites and in the community as required to meet participant needs and availability.

This role is a great prospect for someone who is passionate about supporting people with developmental disabilities to build their skills, achieve their employment goals and take meaningful steps towards greater independence.

As an Employment Pathways Case Manager, you’ll work across Steps2Work – NDIS capacity building employment supports, and Inclusive Employment Australia, supporting participants with a range of goals, abilities and employment aspirations.

The role involves working closely with participants to understand their strengths, identify barriers and develop practical pathways towards employment. You’ll build relationships with employers and other stakeholders, provide job search and on-the-job support, and help participants build the skills and confidence they need to find and maintain meaningful employment.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you will:

- Prioritise needs of caseload and deliver developmental supports appropriate to everyone with a focus on employment
- Through the process of discovery, identify and implement supports to address participant’s barriers to employment
- Support SMART goal-setting practices and develop a support plan that assists in individuals’ progress toward employment
- Conduct skills assessments to identify skill sets and career counselling to identify suitable employment options
- Provide job search support, negotiate employment opportunities, contribute to placement targets, and deliver on-the-job support and training
- Support caseload to find and maintain employment through a range of supports in line with NDIS and Inclusive Employment Australia contracts and guidelines




- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Inclusive Employment Australia contract and NDIS service delivery requirements and records and review monthly caseloads
- Develop and maintain professional relationships and clear communication with all relevant internal and external stakeholders

What we’re looking for?

You will bring:

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals of varying abilities through both written and verbal communication
- A proven ability to build strong relationships and foster collaboration with colleagues, participants, and key stakeholders
- The ability to effectively manage and prioritise a mixed Inclusive Employment Australia/Steps2Work caseload
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and meet deadlines
- A patient, persistent and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving, particularly when working through complex or changing circumstances
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and digital systems to support day-to-day work, record keeping and reporting

Qualifications and Clearances:

- Current NDIS Worker Check
- Current DHS Working with Children check
- Appropriate Child Safe Environments certificate

Special Conditions:

- Ability to work and travel across Barkuma sites and within the community
- After hours/weekend will be required
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence (restricted P2 licence and above) and motor vehicle insurance
