Your Opportunity

The Cairns Early Years Centre provides universal and targeted services to families, using a family-centred and strengths-based approach. Our adjoining kindergarten provides inclusive early learning activities and supports participation for all students as part of their preparation for school.

This is a meaningful opportunity to join the Cairns Early Years Centre and support children aged 0–8 and their families through inclusive, family-centred and strengths-based practice. Working across our purpose-built centre, kindergarten, community settings and family homes, you’ll help build children’s communication, participation and wellbeing while strengthening the confidence and capability of the adults around them.

How You Will Contribute

- Provide Speech Pathology services to children and families through individual, group and play-based supports.

- Support children’s speech, language,



communication and feeding development in natural early years environments.

- Work collaboratively with families, educators, the CEYC team, kindergarten staff and external services.

- Coach and build the capability of families, educators and professionals to support children’s development and participation.

- Contribute to inclusive early learning environments that support children’s preparation for school.

- Deliver services across the centre, community settings, schools, community centres and family homes.

Your Skills and Experience

We're looking for someone who is passionate about supporting families and creating positive outcomes for children and young people. To succeed in this role, you'll bring:

- Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and member of Speech pathology Australia

- Experience providing communication and feeding support to children

- Ability to appropriately respond to the needs of people of all abilities and cultural backgrounds

- Work within a client centric approach while maintaining a positive mindset

- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and contribute to team upskilling and internal learning

- A current Australian Driver Licence and willingness to travel as required.
