Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team in Orange, New South Wales. The Estimator will be part of a team that plays a crucial role in the building and construction industry by providing accurate cost estimates for projects, ensuring that we remain competitive and profitable. This permanent, full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our growing organisation and support our commitment to delivering high-quality construction services.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare detailed cost estimates for building and construction projects based on project specifications and drawings.
- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities, Bills of Materials and detailed project estimates.
- Review and interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
- Source, evaluate and negotiate supplier and subcontractor pricing to achieve competitive and commercially sound estimates.
- Maintain and update a database of costs and pricing for materials and services.




- Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and proposals.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities in project estimates and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

- Minimum three years in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field.
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, civil and shop drawings and project documentation
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and estimating software such as Buildsoft Cubit or similar platforms
- Solid organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written communication skills, along with a White Card, current Driver Licence, Australian working rights and relevant construction, engineering, building or trade qualifications (highly regarded).
