Job Title - Network Engineer
- Security Clearance: NV1 Clearance
- Length of Contract: 9 months
- The role closes on 22/09/2026
- Location: Brindabella Business Park, Canberra ACT
Skills, qualifications and experience required:
- Demonstrated experience designing and integrating secure enterprise networks across Defence, commercial, cloud, deployable, or operational ICT environments.
- Proven ability to define network architectures, interfaces, routing, addressing, backhaul, gateway, firewall, proxy, and security-zone requirements.
- Experience coordinating network integration across multiple delivery organisations, service providers, system owners, and accreditation authorities.
- Experience assessing network performance, availability, resilience, capacity, monitoring, and service-assurance requirements.
- Experience producing network architecture products, interface definitions, integration specifications, test requirements, and technical recommendations that inform procurement and capability acceptance.
- Familiarity with Defence network architecture, the Single Information Setting, Defence Terrestrial Communications Network, commercial SATCOM gateways, and SATCOM Points of Presence is highly desirable.

The design and communication of high-level structures to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs.
In addition to technology components, solution architecture encompasses changes to service, process, organisation, and operating models. The provision of comprehensive guidance on the development of, and modifications to, solution components to ensure that they take account of relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) and that existing and planned solution components remain compatible.
ARCH Level 4: Contributes to the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas. Identifies and evaluates alternative architectures and the trade-offs in cost, performance and scalability. Produces specifications of cloud-based or on-premises components, tiers and interfaces, for translation into detailed designs using selected services and products. Supports a change programme or project through the preparation of technical plans and application of design principles that comply with enterprise and solution architecture standards (including security).
