Youth Worker – First Nations Communities

Are you passionate about supporting young people to build confidence, develop life skills and reconnect with education, employment and their community?

We are seeking a Youth Worker to join our Social, Health and Wellbeing team in Bundaberg, working with at-risk Indigenous young people to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.

The role combines holistic case management, outreach, community engagement and life-skills development, with a robust focus on helping young people increase their participation in education, employment, health and community life.

About the role

You will work directly with young people, families, community organisations and other services to provide culturally responsive support and pathways.

Key responsibilities include

- Providing holistic case management to at-risk young people

- Designing and delivering life-skills programs

- Supporting re-engagement with education, employment, health and community





- Undertaking outreach activities and identifying young people who may benefit from support

- Building relationships and referral pathways with community and mainstream services

- Working collaboratively with other Social, Health and Wellbeing programs

- Supporting clients who are not eligible for the program to connect with alternative services

- Participating in community engagement activities

- Recording client participation and program outcomes

- Acting as a positive role model for young people.

About you

We are looking for someone who can build genuine relationships with young people and communities and who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers and achieve positive outcomes.

Experience in youth work, community services, case management, outreach, education or employment engagement, or supporting at-risk young people would be highly relevant to this role.
