About the role

Custom Logistic Services is looking for an experienced and reliable Local MR Truck Driver to join our Melbourne operation.

This is a permanent, salary-based position offering guaranteed weekly income, Monday-to-Friday work and generally consistent hours. The role is based from our Dandenong warehouse and involves collections and deliveries across Melbourne, including regular visits to airport and seaport freight warehouses.

Standard working hours are approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, based on a 38-hour week. There is no scheduled weekend work. Most deliveries are business-to-business.

The role also includes personal-effects collections and deliveries involving pallets and crates using a tail-lift and electric pallet jack.

Key responsibilities

- Safely operate an MR-class vehicle throughout metropolitan Melbourne

- Complete local freight collections and deliveries efficiently and professionally

- Collect and deliver palletised and crated commercial freight

- Perform tail-lift deliveries using an electric pallet jack

- Attend airport, seaport and freight-forwarding warehouses

- Use our MyFreight transport management system to receive jobs, update collection and delivery statuses, and record PODs

- Obtain signed proof of delivery at the time each delivery is completed

- Keep management informed of delays, unsuccessful deliveries or operational issues

- Complete daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly





- Assist with loading and unloading the truck using a forklift

About you

- A current Australian MR licence or higher

- A clean and safe driving record

- Previous metropolitan pickup and delivery experience

- Experience with palletised freight, tail-lifts and electric pallet jacks

- Airport, seafreight warehouse or freight-forwarding experience is highly desirable

- A current forklift licence is highly desirable

- Comfortable using a mobile phone and digital transport-management system

- Good communication and customer-service skills

- Physically capable of safely completing the manual elements of the role
