Coast Hire is the Bega Valley's Equipment and Event Hire specialist, part of a group that also operates a plant workshop, a Skip bin hire business, and a second branch opening early next year. Following our move to a current yard in Kalaru and a recent restructure, we are now seeking a dedicated Branch Manager.

This is that role.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the full day-to-day operation of the branch. This includes:

• Opening the site on time and ensuring every hire is checked out, signed, and closed off correctly on return

• Maintaining the fleet servicing schedule and getting equipment to the workshop before it's overdue

• Managing the customer journey from initial enquiry through to off-hire, quoting from the rate book and converting enquiries into bookings

• Resolving customer issues within 48 hours

• Leading, rostering, and coaching a small yard team, including running the morning brief and preparing the team's plan for the following day in advance

• Working on the counter and in the yard alongside your team during busy periods

What we are looking for

• Experience managing a site, yard, branch, workshop, or crew, with a track record of implementing systems to run it effectively

• A background in hire, plant, trades, agriculture, or transport is preferred





• Strong organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to plan ahead in writing — whether via whiteboard or system — so your team always knows what's next

• Comfortable working with a hire system, a maintenance system, and spreadsheets (full training provided)

• A customer-first approach, calm under pressure, and direct, honest communication with staff

• A hands-on approach — this is a working management role within a small team, not a desk job

• Current NSW driver's licence; forklift licence held or willingness to obtain one
