About the role

Alto Landscaping is looking for an organised and commercially minded Finance & Procurement Officer to support the financial and purchasing functions of our growing business. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across finance administration, reporting, job costing and procurement. A key part of the position will be helping understand the true financial performance of each project by tracking labour, materials, machinery and other costs against what was originally quoted. You will also take responsibility for coordinating purchasing across the business and ensuring staff purchases are correctly approved, recorded and allocated to the right project. The role will initially be approximately 20 hours per week, with genuine opportunity for the position to grow as Alto Landscaping continues to expand.

Key responsibilities

- Maintain accurate financial records across the business

- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable

- Reconcile supplier invoices and company purchases

- Prepare regular financial reports for the business owner

- Assist with cash-flow monitoring

- Track business expenses and overheads

- Compare quoted costs against actual project costs

- Track labour expenditure by project

- Allocate materials and supplier invoices to individual jobs

- Coordinate material purchasing across the business

About you





- Highly organised and detail focused

- Confident working with numbers

- Comfortable analysing costs and identifying discrepancies

- Experienced in finance administration, accounts or bookkeeping

- Confident dealing with suppliers

- Able to manage multiple projects and cost centres

- Comfortable working independently

- Proactive and reliable

- Experience in construction, landscaping, trades, building or another project-based business would be highly regarded

- Experience with accounting software, spreadsheets and job-costing systems will also be valuable
