About the Role
We are partnering with one of Queensland’s largest and longest-established manufacturers to recruit an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for its highly automated production facility in Banyo.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter who wants to step into a Supervisor-level position without moving away from the tools or taking on direct people management.
You’ll spend approximately 70% of your time hands-on, maintaining, servicing and troubleshooting plant and machinery, while also taking ownership of preventative maintenance schedules, breakdown response, maintenance records, critical spares and equipment improvement projects.
Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you’ll become the go-to person for maintenance across the factory and work closely with production teams, suppliers and external contractors to keep the facility operating reliably.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and troubleshoot automated manufacturing plant and equipment.
- Own preventative maintenance schedules and minimise unplanned downtime.
- Coordinate breakdown response and investigate recurring equipment faults.
- Maintain service records, SOPs, work orders,
asset data and critical spares.
- Support equipment installations, commissioning, upgrades and improvements.
What You’ll Bring
- Mechanical/Maintenance Fitter trade qualification with 5+ years in manufacturing.
- Strong fault-finding and hands-on plant maintenance experience.
- Exposure to CNC, machining, welding or powder coating equipment desirable.
- Pneumatics, PLC experience or a Restricted Electrical Licence advantageous.
- Ability to independently prioritise maintenance and communicate across teams.
