MET Phys and Elevation Studios are a growing multi-disciplinary allied health and wellness business based in Highfields, Queensland. We’re on a genuine growth trajectory, scaling our team significantly over the next 12 months, and we’re looking for an experienced Business Manager who can step straight in, take ownership of our financial operations, and help drive the systems and structure that let our clinical and community teams do their best work. This is a role for someone who already knows this world, multi-disciplinary allied health, NDIS, DVA, aged care, Medicare funding, and can translate that experience into immediate impact.
Why This Role Matters
- A genuine leadership role with real ownership over financial operations across two growing businesses
- The chance to build genuine influence, stepping in as the key operational lead when the CEO is off-site, with real trust and autonomy
- Significant scope for impact, this role directly shapes how the business runs its finances, systems, and operations as it scales
- A leadership presence within the team, with real opportunity to contribute to referral building alongside financial and operational ownership
Core Responsibilities: Financial Management (Primary Focus)
Financial Operations
- Manage financial systems across MET Phys and Elevation Studios, including Xero, Halaxy billing, HubDoc, and Ezidebit
- Management and oversight of invoicing and payment follow-up
- Maintain appropriate segregation of financial duties across the team to ensure sound financial controls
- Manage onboarding costs and professional development (PD) budgets
Budgeting, Cash Flow & Reporting
- Own budgeting and cash flow management for both businesses
- Maintain working knowledge of how these funding models operate across the business (day-to-day NDIS administrative compliance sits with the Admin Manager, but robust cross-scheme understanding is expected).
- Track revenue against targets and flag risks or opportunities early
Payroll & Rostering
- Process payroll start to finish, including final approval and sign-off
- Manage rostering in line with clinical and operational demand
Compliance & Funding Schemes
- Own compliance, reporting, and grant applications across a range of funding streams, including NDIS, DVA, WorkCover, aged care, and Medicare
- Maintain working knowledge of how these funding models operate across the business (day-to-day NDIS administrative compliance sits with the Admin Manager, but strong cross-scheme understanding is expected)
Secondary Responsibilities: Business & Clinical Operations
Staffing & Scheduling
- Support staffing and scheduling decisions in line with clinical demand and business needs
- Work alongside Team Leaders to ensure rosters reflect capacity, utilisation, and client need
Patient Flow & Clinical Pathways
- Support the development and refinement of clinical pathways, working alongside the leadership team
- Help identify and resolve process bottlenecks that affect patient flow or team efficiency
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve business and clinical processes, systems, and workflows
- Support the rollout of new systems and process changes across the team
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the Admin Manager and leadership team, this role complements existing team structures rather than replacing them
Oversee and optimise the integration of AI tools into financial and operational workflows.
Third Priority: HR Support
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Support recruitment processes, including drafting job descriptions and participating in interviews
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Practice Management, Business Management, Finance, or equivalent qualification.
Contracts & Compliance
- Prepare and manage employment contracts in collaboration with the Admin Manager
- Support Fair Work award compliance and pay classification accuracy
Team Collaboration
- Work alongside the Admin Manager, who retains day-to-day HR ownership, this role provides senior support and oversight on contracts, structure, and recruitment rather than replacing the existing HR function
About You

- Confident taking ownership across governance, risk management, and information systems, even where it’s not the primary focus of your day-to-day
- A natural leader who brings others with you, comfortable contributing to referral building and representing the business within the team and community
- Someone who can translate existing practice/business management experience into immediate impact
- Highly organised, financially sharp, and comfortable holding both the detail and the big picture at once
- Comfortable with AI and emerging technology, genuinely curious about how AI and innovation are changing healthcare and business operations, and keen to bring fresh ideas to a growing team that already uses AI daily for systems and process improvement
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- Confidence to work autonomously and make sound financial and operational decisions
