About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Accountant to join the pre-opening team at AC Hotel by Marriott Gold Coast. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values integrity and accuracy, and enjoys partnering with operational leaders to drive business performance.

Reporting to the Multi-Property Director of Finance, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of the hotel through accurate reporting, robust controls, and sound financial analysis. This position offers a unique prospect to be part of a pre-opening hotel, helping to establish financial processes, support commercial decision-making, and contribute to the successful launch and ongoing performance of AC Hotel by Marriott Gold Coast. Through collaboration, continuous improvement, and a commitment to excellence, you will help deliver results that support both the business and the associate experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
- Support month-end and year-end reporting processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
- Monitor and analyze financial data, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Assist with accounts receivable activities, credit management, and revenue reporting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Support financial audits and internal control processes.
- Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and analysis to assist operational decision-making.
- Partner with department leaders to help manage budgets, expenses, and financial performance.
- Maintain strong financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate reporting.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and effectiveness across the finance function.

About You

You are a proactive and analytical finance professional with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering accurate, timely financial information. You enjoy collaborating with stakeholders across the business and take pride in maintaining high standards of financial integrity.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline; or
- Diploma/Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance with relevant accounting experience.
- Experience in hospitality, hotels, tourism, or a service-focused environment will be highly regarded.
- Working towards or holding a professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent) is advantageous.
