Most finance roles sit inside one business and inherit whatever processes are already there. This one is a portfolio of ecommerce brands, and a large part of the job is deciding how the finance function should work in the first place. You will work with a fractional CFO and finance advisory practice working with DTC businesses. Our clients are quick-growing brands predominantly in ecommerce running Shopify across multiple regions and currencies. Most of them have grown faster than their finance infrastructure, which means the reporting is slow, manual and not trusted. Your job is to fix that, and then use the numbers it produces to find where the money is.

Key responsibilities

Automate and streamline finance processes by rebuilding how finance runs as best practice across clients, setting up financial infrastructure to give clients financial visibility to make data-backed decisions

Identify manual work, design better processes, and implement them

Scope and roll out tools that support finance operations, including reporting layers, dashboards, and integrations between Shopify, inventory systems and Xero

Make decisions on systems and implement them

Conduct analysis on margin by channel, region and product, contribution margin after marketing and fulfilment, cohort performance and customer economics

Analyse working capital and inventory efficiency

Produce management packs,



cashflow forecasts and management reporting

Develop recommendations based on financial analysis

Provide first-draft thinking ahead of client strategy sessions

Client facing strategy sessions providing advisory and recommendations based on findings

Build standards and frameworks that become the basis for how the practice delivers for all clients

Work autonomously and manage priorities across multiple clients

About you

CA or CPA qualified

Three to five years post-qualification, ideally in a DTC or retail brand, or the advisory arm of a firm

Demonstrated experience improving or automating a finance process, not just operating one

Genuinely fluent with AI tools in daily work

Strong commercial instinct and ability to tell the difference between a number that moved and a number that matters

Excellent modelling skills in Excel or Sheets to a high standard

Able to work autonomously and manage own priorities across multiple clients

Experience with Shopify, BigQuery, Power Query, SQL or similar reporting stacks is a significant advantage
