As a key member of our hospitality and catering operation, you will be responsible for creating exceptional culinary experiences that delight our guests. About Us

The Q, located at 70 Ipswich - Boonah Rd, Purga, Queensland 4306. Is a new state of the art greyhound racing facility in Purga, situated on the outskirts of Ipswich. The facility includes 3 separate race tracks, a community club complete with a 350 seat restaurant, sports bar, a gaming room with 60 machines.

Tasks & Responsibilities

n

- Planning and preparing high-quality meals across lunch, dinner, and function service
n
- Supervising kitchen operations during busy service periods
n
- Assisting with menu planning, specials, and seasonal offerings
n
- Monitoring food preparation, portion control,



and presentation standards
n
- Training and mentoring apprentice and junior kitchen staff
n
- Managing stock rotation, ordering, and minimising wastage
n
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, WHS, and hygiene regulations
n
- Maintaining consistency and efficiency in a high-volume kitchen environment
n
- Coordinating with management regarding operational requirements and customer expectations

Qualifications & experience

n

n
- Minimum 1 years experience as a Chef in a busy commercial kitchen
n
- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
n
- Experience in high-volume bistro, club, restaurant, or functions environments
n
- Strong leadership and communication skills
n
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
n
- Sound knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance standards
n
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays
n

Salary range $75,000 - $80,000 per year plus super
