Job Description

Must Have Skills:
n 5+ years of experience in DNS operations/support , with at least 2-3 years at L3 level

n

Strong hands on experience with BIND (open source DNS)

n

Deep understanding of:

n

DNS protocol internals

n

Authoritative vs Recursive DNS

n

TTL, caching behavior, and query resolution flow

n

Strong Linux/Unix system administration experience

n

Robust networking fundamentals:

n

TCP/IP, UDP

n

Latency and routing behavior

n

n

Nice to Have Skills:
n Experience with Anycast DNS deployments

n

Exposure to other DNS software: Unbound, PowerDNS, Knot DNS

n

Automation and scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible)

n

Monitoring tools:

n

n
- Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Zabbix

n

n

ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management experience)

n

Top 3 responsibilities you would expect the Subcon to shoulder and execute
n Act as L3 escalation point for complex DNS incidents impacting production services

n

Diagnose and resolve critical DNS outages, performance degradation, and security issues

n

Provide expert support for authoritative and recursive DNS infrastructures

n

Work closely with L1/L2 teams, NOC, and Core Network teams to restore services quickly

n

Deep troubleshooting of BIND

n

Perform DNS protocol level analysis

n

Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents

n
