About the Role The Allied Health Assistant (AHA) supports the delivery of high-quality, client-centred therapy services at The Social Domain. Working alongside our multidisciplinary team of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists, you will support individual and group therapy programs under the supervision and delegation of registered clinicians.

This is a hands-on role involving direct client support, preparation of therapy resources, group program assistance, documentation and general clinical support. Sessions may take place within our clinic, schools and client homes.

Success in this role means being reliable, organised and proactive; building positive relationships with clients and families; following delegated therapy programs accurately; completing documentation promptly; communicating effectively with supervising clinicians; and consistently working within the scope of the Allied Health Assistant role.

Responsibilities

- Implement therapy programs and activities prescribed by Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists.
- Provide direct support to clients during individual and group therapy sessions.
- Assist with social communication, language, emotional regulation, sensory, fine and gross motor, daily living and other clinician-directed activities.
- Support the delivery of social skills and other therapeutic group programs, including assisting with engagement and behavioural support.
- Prepare, set up and pack down therapy materials, resources, equipment and session spaces.




- Create and prepare client resources, visual supports and therapy materials as directed by clinicians.
- Complete factual and observational session notes within required timeframes.
- Communicate relevant client observations, concerns or incidents promptly to the supervising clinician.
- Maintain qualified and appropriate communication with clients, families and carers.
- Assist with maintaining therapy resources, equipment and clinical spaces.
- Participate in regular supervision, team meetings and relevant training.
- Work collaboratively with the clinical, administrative and leadership teams.

- An interest in working with children, adolescents and/or adults in an allied health setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to build rapport with clients while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Strong organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to follow clinician instructions and implement delegated programs accurately.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Reliable, punctual and able to manage responsibilities independently when appropriate.
- Comfortable receiving supervision, feedback and direction from clinicians.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information appropriately.
- Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain these prior to commencing client work.
