A trade for a world that's changing fast

AI is reshaping office jobs before they've even started. A trade doesn't have that problem. You can't install a camera system, run cable through a warehouse roof, or commission an access control system from a chatbot. What you build with your hands and your head stays yours.

Not your average apprenticeship

Security is a different kind of trade — some days you're on tools, pulling cable, working at height, on construction sites, in the outdoors, learning to install proper systems the right way. Other days you're on a laptop, programming, networking, testing, commissioning — making sure everything you've installed talks to everything else. It's a genuine mix of brains and brawn if you like variety over routine.

Who we are

Red Flag Security is a commercial and industrial electronic security business based in Seaford, working across Melbourne — warehouses, cold storage, manufacturing and production sites. We install video surveillance, access control and alarm systems for builders and end clients who need things done properly.

We're building a reputation as the security specialist builders reach for without hesitation — and that means the people on our team need to be positive at what they do, and proud of it.

What you'll get

- A 4-year apprenticeship with real, varied work from day one
- Certificate III in Security Equipment at Box Hill TAFE
- Hands-on training from technicians who know the trade properly
- A team culture built on four things: enjoyment, integrity, care and safety

What we're looking for More than experience, we're looking for the right attitude — because that's what we can't teach.

- Someone who takes pride in doing a job properly, not just finishing it
- Someone who'll ask if they're unsure, rather than guess and hope
- Someone who turns up, does what they say they'll do, and owns it when something goes wrong
- Someone who'll pitch in and leave a site tidier than they found it
- A good attitude on a hard day — someone who sees a tricky job as a chance to learn, not something to complain about

If that sounds like you, trade experience isn't the requirement. We'll teach you the trade. Bring the attitude.
