Wagga Wagga Art Gallery is looking for a curious, creative and community-minded person to join the team as our Art Gallery Operations & Programs Trainee.

This traineeship is an opportunity to learn what happens behind the scenes of a busy regional gallery while gaining practical experience across exhibitions, visitor services, creative programs, events, collections and arts administration.

You don't need previous gallery experience. We're looking for someone who genuinely loves arts and culture, enjoys working with people and is excited by the opportunity to learn.

You'll work alongside experienced Gallery staff while completing a Certificate III, IV or Diploma level qualification relevant to arts administration, museums and galleries as part of your traineeship.

What we will offer you:

- Above award rates! Commencing salary of $1,721.00 gross per fortnight plus superannuation (at 18 years of age or older), varying rates subject to age and experience as per award provisions.

Your new role:

No two days at Wagga Wagga Art Gallery are exactly the same.

Working Tuesday to Saturday alongside the Gallery team, you'll develop practical skills and experience across a variety of activities, including:

- Welcoming visitors and providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service.
- Supporting front of house operations, retail sales, stock management and reconciliation.




- Assisting with exhibitions, artist programs, residencies and creative learning activities.
- Supporting Gallery events, functions and venue hire.
- Assisting with school, community and engagement programs.
- Learning about artwork handling, collection care, condition reporting and collection data.
- Assisting with Gallery communications, digital content and program information.
- Providing administration and project support across Gallery programs and activities.
- Participating in team and program planning and learning how a professional regional gallery operates.

Who we're looking for:

You don't need previous experience working in an art gallery. What matters most is your attitude,



curiosity, reliability and genuine interest in arts, culture and people.
