St John’s Grammar School is a dynamic E–12 co-educational, independent Anglican school nestled in the beautiful hills of Belair, South Australia. The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and experienced educator to join our school as the Assistant Head of Senior School. Reporting to the Head of Senior School, the Assistant Head of Senior School is a member of the Secondary Executive team and provides leadership in the areas of student pastoral care, culture and behaviour. The role works closely with Heads of House, teachers and families to support positive student outcomes and foster a connected and flourishing Senior School community.

The successful applicant will

- Lead initiatives that enhance student wellbeing, culture and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with staff, students and families to address student needs.




- Contribute to strategic improvement initiatives across the Secondary School.
- Provide support to Heads of House and teachers with student behaviour management actions, including working directly with student and families.
- Maintain a teaching load (0.62FTE) while modelling excellence in classroom practice.

This leadership opportunity is a three year tenured role, with the teaching component being a full time permanent position.

Qualifications & Experience

- Experience in building a connected school community and positive culture as well as a strong background in student welfare and pastoral care.
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Exceptional teaching record with a demonstrated ability to produce outstanding outcomes for all students.
