Programmed, together with Santos, are excited to offer Northern Territorians the opportunity to undertake operations and trade apprenticeships in Darwin and offshore. The Santos-operated Barossa gas project is an offshore project that provides gas to the Darwin liquified natural gas (DLNG) facility in the Northern Territory. Outside of the Territory, Santos' portfolio also incorporates some of the world's largest and most advanced offshore and onshore processing facilities.

We are currently offering the following apprenticeships:

- Process Plant Operations
- Mechanical Fitting
- Electrical Instrumentation

These are entry level positions aimed at applicants aged 21 and under. Requiring no previous experience in industry, except an interest toward mechanical or engineering type activities. Year 12 graduates are encouraged to apply. The NETTS Program is delivered over a four-year period. The first one to two years will see candidates based in a learning environment at Charles Darwin University and South Metropolitan Tafe (Australian Centre for Energy & Process Training), with frequent on the job training opportunities with Santos.

During the final years of the program, candidates will be working on major facilities such as Santos DLNG or a fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) rotating roster to world class offshore sites around Australia, including on the Barossa gas project's Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, the BW Opal, gaining a highly sought after and valuable experience.





Candidates will gain technical knowledge on resource and hydrocarbon processing systems, develop trade skills and operate process facilities. Your training will involve both on-the-job and classroom-based learning. You will receive ongoing support and mentoring throughout the programs duration with strong industry engagement.

On completion, you'll receive nationally accredited qualifications which are recognised across multiple sectors and industry.

To be successful, you will be:

- An Australian citizen or permanent resident who resides in the Northern Territory
- Able to work flexible hours including 12-hour shifts, potentially up to a three week on/off roster out of Darwin
- Able to travel for training purposes, sometimes interstate.
- A team player with a willingness to actively contribute to achieving results
- Highly committed to safety, quality and attention to detail and procedures
- Passionate about building a career in the energy industry
- Either completing, or about to complete, Year 11 with a pass in Mathematics and English. A subject in science will be highly regarded, or any Vocational Education and Training
- A driver's licence holder or willing to obtain a driver's licence at the time of appointment.
