About the role

Dale James & Co is seeking enthusiastic 1st year apprentices to join our team in South Perth. This is an exciting part-time opportunity for individuals looking to launch their career in the hair and beauty industry. As a 1st year apprentice, you will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience and developing the foundational skills required to become a qualified hair and beauty specialist.

This role is integral to your professional development and will provide you with the mentorship and training needed to succeed in this creative and rewarding industry.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting senior stylists and beauty professionals with client services
- Learning and practising fundamental hair cutting, styling, colouring and treatment techniques
- Providing shampoo and conditioning services under supervision
- Maintaining a clean, hygienic and organised salon environment
- Greeting clients and managing reception duties
- Supporting beauty treatments and skincare services as directed
- Attending and participating in training sessions and apprenticeship coursework
- Developing customer service skills and building rapport with clients
- Following health, safety and hygiene standards at all times

What we're looking for

- Completion of Year 10 or equivalent or willingness to undertake relevant educational requirements
- Genuine passion for hair and beauty services
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness




- Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to commit to a part time schedule
- Eagerness to learn and willingness to ask questions and seek guidance
- Physical stamina to manage the demands of standing for extended periods
- A positive attitude and team-focused mindset
- No prior experience necessary – comprehensive training will be provided
