Our client is a privately owned Australian business that rebuilds components and overhauls machines for tier one mining operators. Their Mackay workshop is up-to-date, purpose-built, works on Caterpillar equipment, and is booked out to the end of next year. They are growing and build their leaders from within the business.
They are adding an Automotive Electrician to the team.
The role
You will work across cab overhauls, harness removal and installation, and the repair and servicing of electrical components across the machine. Fault finding sits at the centre of it.
Your work will include
- Fault finding on electrical and electronic systems with test equipment
- Cab overhauls
- Harness removal, installation and repair
- Removing and installing electrical and electronic assemblies and components
- Testing and replacing alternators, generators, voltage regulators and starter motors
- Engine control systems and timing
- Ignition and electrical wiring repairs
- Connecting power-operated equipment and accessories

What we're looking for A trade-qualified Automotive Electrician. We're particularly interested in people who have built their experience on mobile mining or earthmoving equipment. You may currently be in a mining workshop, a dealer, an earthmoving or heavy vehicle business, or field service.
You will bring:
- A trade qualification as an Automotive Electrician, Certificate III or higher
- Solid fault-finding experience on electrical and electronic systems
- Harness repair, removal and installation experience
- The right to work in Australia
Cab overhaul experience and a rebuild workshop background will be highly regarded.
The roster
You will work four days on and three days off every week, starting Monday, on 12-hour shifts from 6:00 to 6:00. The roster runs on a three-week swing, with two weeks of day shift followed by one week of night shift.
