Cos Baby in Freo is on the hunt for an experienced and enthusiastic breakfast chef to join our expanding team.

We're a busy little cafe in the heart of Fremantle, looking for someone friendly, efficient, reliable and with attention to detail. Our kitchen is open 7am-2pm daily, serving brunch from our menu, and snacks from the cabinet.

Fixed working hours available, but must be available to work both weekend days. This position offers 36-40 hours per week.

The job includes:

- Preparing and cooking a variety of brunch dishes from our menu.
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
- Ensuring display cabinet is kept stocked, including any baking required.
- Ensuring food items are stored, handled, prepared and served in accordance with Food Safety Standards, by all of the team.
- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen setting, managing stock rotation and daily ordering to meet production needs.
- Assist in planning of the menu (including rotating specials), with costing.




- Management and training of cooks, ensuring hygiene regulations are met, demonstrating cooking techniques and procedures.

Candidates must have:

- Cert III in Commercial Cookery and a minimum of 2+ years cooking experience in cafe environment.

- Strong breakfast cooking skills include egg cookery, pancakes, grill operation, food prep, and cabinet food preparation.
- The ability to work independently, as well as part of the team on busier days. And also coordinate with the front-of-house team to ensure efficient food service, keep updated with specials, and any preparation issues.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- A commitment to Food Safety, and adherence to all Food Handling Standards in food cooking and preservation.
- The right to work in Australia.
