Building Surveyor (12-Month Contract)

Are you a Building Professional who has, or can attain, Accreditation through the state Accreditation Scheme? Are you looking for an opportunity to work alongside an experienced and supportive team? Alexandrina Council is seeking a Building Surveyor to join our Building Services team on a 12-month contract.

About the Role

As a Building Surveyor, you'll play an important role in ensuring building work throughout the Alexandrina region complies with the National Construction Code and relevant legislation. You'll undertake building assessments, critical stage inspections, provide technical advice to builders, developers and the community, investigate compliance matters and work closely with your colleagues to deliver practical, customer-focused outcomes.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

- Holds, or is capable of attaining Accredited Professional – Building Level 3 accreditation under the SA Accredited Professionals Scheme. Applicants who hold, or are capable of attaining, Level 4 accreditation may also be considered.




- Has experience inspecting Class 1 and 10 buildings
- Has strong knowledge of the National Construction Code and relevant South Australian building legislation
- Enjoys working with people and providing practical, professional advice
- Can work independently while also contributing positively to a collaborative team
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills
- Holds a current driver's licence
