We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients for a Business Analytics opportunity in Australia. This role is suited to students, recent graduates, and professionals who are interested in using data to understand business performance, uncover opportunities, and support informed decision-making.

Overview

As a Business Analytics Intern, you will work with business data to evaluate performance, identify trends, and develop insights that support planning and operational decisions. You will contribute to analytical activities across areas such as customers, sales, marketing, finance, and business operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Gather and organize data from databases, spreadsheets, CRM platforms, and business applications.
- Analyze business data to identify trends, patterns, performance gaps, and opportunities.
- Develop reports and dashboards that provide clear visibility into key business metrics.
- Track KPIs and investigate changes in performance across relevant business areas.
- Use SQL to extract, combine, filter, and analyze data from relational databases.
- Clean and validate datasets to ensure accurate and consistent analytical results.
- Analyze customer, sales, marketing, financial, and operational data according to business requirements.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to answer business questions and support day-to-day decisions.
- Segment customers, products,



markets, or other business groups to identify meaningful differences in performance.
- Support forecasting and planning activities using historical business information and current trends.
- Develop visualizations and summaries that communicate findings clearly to business teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes through data analysis.
- Assist in evaluating the performance of products, campaigns, services, or operational activities.
- Automate suitable reporting and analytical tasks using Excel, SQL, Python, or related tools.
- Maintain documentation covering data sources, calculations, analytical methods, and reporting definitions.
- Present analytical findings and business insights to relevant technical and non-technical teams.

Required Qualifications

- Understanding of business analytics and data analysis principles.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Strong Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and manipulation.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or another business intelligence platform.
- Understanding of KPIs, business metrics, and performance measurement.
- Ability to work with structured datasets and identify relevant business patterns.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.




- Good attention to detail when reviewing data and analytical outputs.
- Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly.
- Understanding of basic statistical and quantitative analysis concepts.

Preferred Technical Skills

- Knowledge of Python or R for analysis and automation.
- Experience with Pandas, NumPy, or similar analytical libraries.
- Familiarity with Power BI DAX, Tableau calculations, or comparable BI functionality.
- Understanding of descriptive statistics, forecasting, and trend analysis.
- Exposure to CRM, ERP, or other enterprise business systems.
- Experience working with commercial, customer, financial, or operational datasets.
- Knowledge of data visualization and dashboard design principles.
- Understanding of ETL and data integration processes.
- Exposure to cloud data platforms or modern data warehouses.
- Familiarity with Git or other version control tools.
- Qualified working proficiency in English is required; additional languages are an advantage.
