Business Development Manager (BDM) – VIC & TAS Renewable Energy & Electrical Wholesale Channel

Role Overview The Business Development Manager (BDM) – VIC & TAS is responsible for driving revenue growth, market share, and brand preference across Victoria by managing and expanding relationships with electrical and solar wholesalers.

As the primary point of contact for the state, you will manage a high-value portfolio spanning solar & hybrid inverters, energy storage systems (batteries), and residential/commercial solar switchboards. Your goal is to secure shelf space, drive bulk purchasing, and ensure wholesale branch staff are fully trained to recommend and sell our product suite to their electrical contractor and installer customer base. This role requires active territory management across VIC & TAS and key regional wholesale hubs.

Key Responsibilities

- Wholesale Account Management: Maintain and expand relationships with key electrical and solar wholesale networks across Victoria & Tas.
- Strategic Pipeline & Sales Growth: Drive stocking orders and project-specific sales for inverters, batteries, and engineered/pre-wired switchboards to meet monthly and quarterly VIC & TAS sales targets.

- Branch-Level Engagement & Pull-Through: Conduct regular branch visits, counter mornings, and "toolbox talks" to educate wholesale staff and visiting electrical contractors/solar installers on product features, value propositions, and compliance.
- Territory & Travel Management: Efficiently map and execute a travel schedule.
- Project & Tender Support: Partner with wholesalers and local VIC contractors to bid on commercial and industrial (C&I;) or large-scale residential solar projects, ensuring our switchboards and multi-inverter/battery configurations are specified.
- Compliance & Technical Advocacy: Clearly communicate Australian standards compliance (e.g., AS/NZS 61439 for switchboards) and state-specific network protection/Energex/Ergon grid connection requirements to wholesale buyers, estimators, and solar contractors.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor pricing, stock availability, and emerging technology trends in the VIC renewable and construction sectors to feed insights back to internal product and inventory teams.
