Help Australia's Service Personnel Build Their Next Chapter

Each year, thousands of Australian Defence Force members begin a new chapter beyond military service. As a Career Transition Specialist with The BUSY Group, you'll help them translate their experience into meaningful civilian careers.

You'll empower members to recognise the value of their skills, explore new opportunities, and navigate career change with confidence and purpose.

This is more than a career coaching role. It is an opportunity to guide and support people who have dedicated themselves to serving Australia, helping shape their next chapter.

What You'll Be Doing

Empowering Career Success

- Work one-on-one with transitioning ADF members to identify transferable skills, build confidence, and explore civilian career opportunities.
- Support participants with resumes, job search strategies, interview preparation, and career planning.

Creating Meaningful Pathways

- Guide individuals towards education, training, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), and vocational pathways aligned to their goals.
- Help participants explore a range of post service pathways including retirement, volunteering and study.
- Help participants discover opportunities they may never have previously considered.

Building Community Connections

- Develop relationships with employers, training providers,



industry bodies, and community networks.
- Create pathways to employment and positive outcomes for Defence members and their families.

This role is permanent full time, office based in Brisbane.

Who We're Looking For We're seeking people who are passionate about helping others succeed. Experience may include:

- Career coaching
- Employment services
- Recruitment and talent acquisition
- Vocational education and training
- Human resources
- Defence or veteran support services
- Australian Defence Force

Whether through professional experience or lived Defence experience, you'll bring empathy, credibility, and a genuine desire to support others. Role Qualifications & Experience

One of the following:

- Five years’ experience in the employment services industry or a community service sector such as career coaching, employment services, recruitment, or vocational education; OR
- A minimum of 4 years of full-time ADF service within the previous five years.

Former ADF members and partners are strongly encouraged to apply.



Your understanding of military culture and transition challenges can make a lasting difference to those following a similar path. Skills & Mindset

- High emotional intelligence and active listening skills.
- Ability to support individuals navigating significant life changes.
- Understanding of the local employment market, industry sectors, or vocational pathways.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.

Program & Compliance Essentials

- Australian Citizenship (mandatory).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance, National Police Check, and relevant Working with Children and/or Vulnerable People Checks.
- Valid Open Driver's Licence.
