Casual / Subcontract Gardener & Hedge Trimmer – Work Available Now

Mornington Peninsula, VIC

Modern Hedge is looking for an experienced gardener, hedge trimmer or outdoor worker to join our team, with work available immediately.

This role is ideal for someone who wants flexibility rather than necessarily looking for a traditional full time position.

You might be

- Looking for 2–3 days of casual work each week
- A subcontractor with some availability in your schedule
- Between roles and looking for regular work
- Looking to get back into the industry
- Interested in working with us now, with the potential for something longer term if it suits both sides

We’re genuinely flexible on the arrangement and would rather find the right person than be too rigid about days or employment structure.

About the work

Modern Hedge is a Mornington Peninsula-based hedge trimming and garden care business.

The role will involve a mix of:

- Hedge trimming and shaping
- General garden maintenance
- Pruning and garden clean-ups
- Green waste removal
- Working alongside our existing hedge trimming and gardening crews

You’ll work across residential properties throughout the Mornington Peninsula as part of an established team.

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

- Enjoys physical, outdoor work
- Takes pride in doing a quality job
- Is reliable and turns up when they say they will
- Works well as part of a team
- Is comfortable working at a good pace
- Has a current Australian driver’s licence





Previous gardening, hedge trimming, landscaping or similar trade experience would be highly regarded. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with a good attitude who will fit well with our crew.

Casual or subcontract – we're flexible

We’re open to either a casual employee or subcontractor arrangement. There is full time salaried available as an alternative too.

If working as a subcontractor, you’ll need to have your own:

- ABN
- Appropriate insurance
- Tax and business arrangements

You don’t need to provide your own vehicle or gardening equipment. You can work alongside our existing Modern Hedge team using our vehicles and equipment as required. There may also be an opportunity for the right person to move into a more permanent position with Modern Hedge down the track, but there’s no expectation that you need to be looking for that now.
