About the role
National Jet Express (NJE) is seeking an experienced Catering Coordinator to manage the loading, staging, and delivery of catering carts to aircraft across our charter flight schedule. This is a hands-on coordination role covering staff rostering, stock and supplier management, ground support equipment (GSE) oversight, and authorship of the catering procedures manuals/reference documentation. You'll work within the Ground Operations Management team to ensure catering services are delivered safely, on time, and in line with aviation security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage rosters for catering staff, ensuring adequate coverage across the flight schedule while managing leave, availability, and shift changes.
- Order stock from suppliers to meet forecasted catering demand across services.
- Manage stock levels, including receiving, rotation,
wastage control, and inventory accuracy.
- Oversee ground support equipment (GSE) relevant to catering operations, including condition checks, servicing schedules, and compliance with safety standards.
- Author and maintain relevant documentation, ensuring procedures remain current, accurate, and aligned with operational and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure all catering activities meet food safety, aviation safety and security expectations, including compliance with CASA and airport security requirements.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or logistics coordination role, ideally within aviation or another regulated environment
- Experience rostering staff and managing supplier/stock relationships
- Strong attention to detail and comfortable maintaining procedural documentation
- Understanding of, or willingness to quickly learn, aviation safety and security obligations
- Valid ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card) or ability to obtain one
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with Ground Operations and airside teams
- Medium Rigid (MR) licence or higher, highly desirable.
