Position
Reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Financial Officer will lead the financial management, governance and financial performance of the organisation.
This is a broad and influential CFO role, combining technical financial leadership with commercial insight, strategic business partnering and transformation. You will work closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board, providing the financial perspective that supports strategy, performance and long-term sustainability.
The CFO will lead a substantial Finance function spanning financial reporting, FP&A;, treasury, investment management, financial governance and transformation, while overseeing the outsourced Internal Audit function.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- CA/CPA qualification and strong technical financial capability.
- Significant senior finance leadership experience in a complex organisation.
- Ideally, experience within a financial services, insurance or APRA-regulated environment, with an understanding of regulatory reporting, risk and compliance.
- Proven experience leading finance transformation, including systems, reporting, automation and process improvement.
- Strong systems capability and an appetite to modernise Finance and build capability for the future.
- The ability to communicate effectively with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board and provide an objective, commercial perspective.
Profile
You are a hands-on and commercially minded CFO who is comfortable getting into the detail but equally capable of stepping back and seeing the bigger picture.
You will be confident challenging the Executive Leadership Team when required and providing clear, objective advice to the CEO and Board.
Importantly, you will be a strong people leader who brings energy, ambition and a genuine desire to build a high-performing Finance function. You will be comfortable operating in a changing environment and have the ability to bring people with you through transformation.
A genuine member mindset is important; decisions need to deliver value while supporting the organisation’s purpose and ambitions.
