Directional Drill and Excavation Offsiders – Power & Communications

Location: Cockburn Central, WA

Cable Layers Australia is a civil construction company specialising in the power and communications industries across Western Australia.

We’re currently seeking Civil Offsiders and Drillers to join our team based in Cockburn Central. These roles involve assisting with directional drilling, excavator operations, reinstatement works, cable laying, and the installation of communications and power infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform directional drilling tasks, including locating underground services and plant maintenance.
- Installation of primary equipment, streetlights, and power cables.
- Operate drilling and excavation equipment
- Complete reinstatement works, concreting, trenching and heavy labouring.
- Safety conscientious and well presented with the ability to deal with the public.
- Work across the greater Perth metropolitan area and occasional regional work.

Skills and Experience: Must have valid manual WA HR or MR Truck Driver’s Licence

- White Card (Construction Induction)
- Physically fit and capable of manual labour
- Solid focus on safety and following procedures




- Valuable communication skills and team attitude
- Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screen
- Experience operating drilling equipment for underground utilities
- Positive work ethic and the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Experience Preferred:

- Previous cable laying or utilities construction experience
- Working knowledge of underground utilities (Power, Water, Gas, Communications)
- Excavator operating ticket and industry accrediations
