Allan King & Sons Construction is a local, family-owned civil construction company specialising in bulk and detailed earthworks, road construction, stormwater drainage and stabilisation, with projects throughout the Northern Territory.

Following the award of additional major civil infrastructure works, we are seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to join our growing civil construction team.

Based predominantly in Darwin, this role will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of civil construction works, working closely with Project Managers, engineers, operators, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

We are looking for a practical, hands-on supervisor who understands civil construction, can effectively lead crews and keep works progressing safely and productively.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day civil construction activities
- Lead and manage site crews, operators and subcontractors
- Plan daily works and coordinate labour, plant, materials and resources
- Work closely with Project Managers and engineers to deliver works to program
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications and project requirements
- Monitor productivity, progress and quality of works
- Ensure works are completed safely and in accordance with project requirements
- Conduct pre-starts, toolbox meetings and site safety activities
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and deliveries
- Identify and resolve site issues to minimise delays
- Monitor plant utilisation and site resources
- Maintain accurate site records and communicate project progress
- Ensure environmental, quality and safety requirements are maintained
- Assist with forward planning and upcoming work activities





About You We are looking for an experienced civil construction professional with strong practical knowledge and the ability to effectively lead people and site operations.

Ideally, you will have:

- Proven experience supervising civil construction works
- Robust experience across road construction, bulk and detailed earthworks, drainage and associated civil works
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and levels
- Experience coordinating crews, plant and subcontractors
- Strong understanding of WHS, environmental and quality requirements
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- The ability to identify problems and make practical decisions on site
- A collaborative approach when working with Project Managers, engineers and site teams
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Construction White Card

Experience supervising larger-scale civil infrastructure or government projects will be highly regarded but is not essential. We value demonstrated practical experience and a strong track record of successfully delivering civil works. Formal civil construction qualifications will be highly regarded but are not essential.
