About the role The Clinical Trials Pharmacist is a key member of Nucleus Network’s Pharmacy team, responsible for the safe, accurate and timely management of investigational products and devices across clinical trials. You will support study set-up and daily pharmacy operations, including receipt, storage, inventory control, dispensing, compounding, accountability and destruction in accordance with study protocols, Nucleus Network procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. In this role, you will work closely with study teams, Clinical Operations, Medical Officers, sponsors, clinical research associates and external vendors.



You will provide pharmacy advice, prepare and maintain accurate study documentation, support monitoring visits, maintain controlled-temperature and clean-room environments, and help ensure investigational products are ready for time-critical dosing while protecting study blinding requirements.

Working alongside a cooperative and experienced team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of clinical trials while gaining valuable experience and benefiting from structured learning and development opportunities.

Key responsibilities

- Receive, store, dispense, compound and maintain accurate inventory and accountability records for investigational products, medications and devices.
- Apply independent professional judgement to ensure the right participant receives the right investigational product, treatment and dose in accordance with study protocols.
- Maintain controlled-temperature storage areas, pharmacy equipment and clean-room environments, including monitoring, reporting, cleaning and calibration activities.
- Prepare and maintain accurate pharmacy source documents, study records, training records and other documentation in line with ICH-GCP,



GMP, GDP and Nucleus Network procedures.
- Provide pharmacy advice and training to study teams and unit staff on medication interactions, side effects, dosage, administration, storage and accountability.
- Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Medical Officers, study teams, sponsors, clinical research associates and vendors, including supporting monitoring visits and communicating potential dosing delays.
- Support site-based activities and participate in rotating weekend and evening shifts as required.

Requirements

- Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent, with current registration as a pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- A minimum of two years’ experience as a registered pharmacist.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong attention to detail, accurate record-keeping and the ability to follow procedural, regulatory and quality requirements.
- Strong planning, prioritisation and time-management skills, with the flexibility to work in a time-critical clinical setting.
- Good computer literacy, including sound knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Clinical trial pharmacy, Phase 1 trials, GMP or TGA knowledge, compounding, aseptic technique, reconstitution or clean-room experience will be highly regarded.
