Position: Digital Project Manager

Purpose of the role:

n

n

As a Senior PM you are a leader and manager of extended virtual teams

n

n

· leading, mentoring and coaching other Project Managers to be successful

n

· leading, mentoring and coaching agency hire / term Project Managers to work effectively in Sydney Water

n

· ensure PM’s under your leadership deliver effectively and efficiently to our corporate standards

n

· set an example driving our target state cultural culture (Blue Bus & Signature Behaviours)

n

· you build solid high performing teams of up to 30+ people to deliver large projects and programs

n

· you ensure all team members are crystal clear on their roles and responsibilities in the team; from subject matter experts, business analysts, architects, developers, vendors, testers, change managers to project board members etc. each must understand the role they play in each project

n

· you oversee several projects in parallel touching many stakeholders

n

n

Manage all your projects large and small

n

· to deliver quality, fit for purpose solutions, that provide real business benefits to the organization

n

· preparation of business cases attaining necessary approvals in a timely manner; ensuring the business case stacks up

n

· management of project financials (budgets and forecasting)

n

· effective planning and integration into the broader Digital portfolio of work

n

· delivery to benefits, scope, quality, schedule and budget

n

· effective management of team resources, including vendor resources

n





· effective management of communication and stakeholder relationships

n

· effective management of issues and risks

n

· compliance to project methodology (Prince2) including adoption appropriate delivery methodologies

n

· delivery of simple, usable solutions to all stakeholders

n

· build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders and vendors

n

· manage stakeholder expectations through the application of stakeholder management discipline

n

n

Experience required:

n

n

n

Extensive experience with Core Asset and Works Management Platforms, specifically Maximo

n

n

Ideally we are looking for someone with experience in an upgrade from Maximo 7.6 to MAS 9.X, Business case writing experience

n

n

Accountabilities and deliverables:

n

∙ Day to day techncial accountabilities include having a comprehensive knowledge of the following processes. More importantly the Senior PM must be leading, mentoring and supporting other Project Managers in the effective application of these processes including

n

o Sydney Water’s implementation of Prince 2,

n

o Digital Delivery Platform (DDP)

n

o all other business process supporting project, program and portfolio management including those around month and year end.

n

∙ The continuous longest task a PM may perform could be a projects that run for years. The PM will break this down into stages, workstreams and activities to ensure progress can be effectively meaured, monitored reported to a project board on a monthly basis.
