Triton Solutions is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Controls Commissioning Engineer to join our Melbourne team.
This is a hands-on role supporting a large-scale materials handling and logistics automation project. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable being on site, working with PLC-controlled machinery, troubleshooting issues and getting systems commissioned and running.
For this role, solid hands-on experience with Siemens S7-1500, TIA Portal and Profinet is essential.
What you'll be doing• Testing and commissioning PLC-controlled automation systems on site
- Siemens S7-1500 PLC commissioning and troubleshooting
- Fault finding across PLC, Profinet and field devices
- Testing and validation of machine safety systems
- Working with Siemens integrated safety, VSDs, barcode scanners and industrial safety devices
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and control drawings
- Supporting system integration, testing and handover activities
- Completing commissioning and testing documentation
What we're looking for• Degree qualified in Electrical, Mechatronics, Controls Engineering or a related discipline
- 2+ years of relevant controls/automation experience
- Strong Siemens S7-1500 and TIA Portal experience – essential
- Hands-on Profinet commissioning and troubleshooting experience – essential
- Experience with Siemens integrated safety systems
- Experience with VSDs and industrial field devices
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, site-based commissioning environment
- Able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary project team
- Available to commence from 1 October 2026
Experience in warehouse automation, conveyor systems or materials handling would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
