Ozcare has a Casual position available for a Cook at our beautiful Aged Care facility in Newstead.

Your Role

As a Cook you'll be looking after the most important people in our organisation - our clients. Your tasks will include:

- Prepare, cook and serve meals in line with corporate menus, recipes and dietary requirements
- Ensure all meals meet IDDSI and texture-modified needs
- Follow safe food handling, hygiene and infection control standards
- Monitor and comply with Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental practices

Role Requirements

- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.




- Demonstrated previous cooking experience for aged care residents would be an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to prepare nutritious meals that meet the dietary and texture modification requirements of older people
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of IDDSI
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong time management and organisational skills in a busy kitchen environment.
- Adaptable availability to cover annual leave, sick leave and ability to work morning, afternoon, and occasional weekend shifts.
- Compassionate and resident-focused approach, strong communication and teamwork skills, commitment to delivering high-quality dining experiences for residents.
- Be vaccinated against Influenza & at least 1 dose of Covid-19 vaccine
- Hold a current Police Screening Certificate
- Current First Aid & CPR training Certificates
