We’re growing. Fast. And we need another set of hands on the grill.
FYR Republic is a proudly Aussie eCommerce start-up making premium outdoor cooking gear — from Kamado grills to outdoor kitchens — built for people who take their cooking seriously.
We’re a small, fast-growing Brisbane business with some big plans ahead. This role will also provide occasional marketing support to our sister company, Willship International, a freight and vehicle shipping business.
Over the past few months FYR has grown quickly, and we’ve reached the point where we need another talented person in the team to help turn ideas and strategy into finished work.
We’re looking for someone creative, digitally switched-on, organised and keen to build a serious career in eCommerce and marketing.
You don't need to be an expert in everything listed below. We're much more interested in finding someone with great creative instincts, initiative and the ability to learn quickly.
You'll work closely with our Head of Marketing, who will lead the overall strategy, direction and performance. Your job is to help turn that strategy into action — creating, building, publishing, testing, organising and keeping the marketing machine moving.
Some days you might be editing a video of a rib roast cooking over charcoal. Other days you're building a Klaviyo campaign, creating ad variations, updating Shopify, shooting content in the warehouse or helping a customer figure out when their new Kamado is arriving.
If you like variety, creativity, learning quickly and getting stuff DONE, you'll probably love it here.
? What you'll actually be doing
This is a genuinely varied role for someone who wants real ownership early in their career.
FYR isn't a giant corporate marketing department where changing an Instagram caption requires six meetings and approval from someone named Greg in Legal.
We're a growing Australian eCommerce brand, which means you'll get exposure to the whole marketing engine — content, paid ads, email, eCommerce, CRO, creative production, AI, social media and customers.
You'll make things people actually see.
You'll have room to experiment.
You'll learn quickly.
And yes, your camera roll will probably end up containing an unreasonable amount of meat.
? Content & Creative
This is a big part of the role.
You'll help turn ideas and raw footage into content people actually want to watch.
You'll be
- Filming and editing Reels, TikToks, Shorts and other short-form video
- Finding strong hooks, moments and stories within raw footage
- Creating graphics, static ads, thumbnails and content variations
- Using tools like CapCut, Canva and AI to produce content faster
- Repurposing great content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and other channels
- Helping develop shot lists and creative ideas
- Organising footage and creative assets
- Coordinating external editors when we need additional production capacity
- Looking for ways to squeeze as much great content as possible out of every shoot
We don't expect you to arrive as Steven Spielberg. But we do want someone who has a natural eye for content and understands what makes people stop scrolling.
? Social Media
You'll help keep FYR's social channels active, organised and growing.
That includes maintaining our content calendar, scheduling and publishing posts, adapting captions and creative for different platforms, uploading Reels and Shorts, responding to straightforward engagement and constantly looking for opportunities to turn one good piece of content into five.
Most importantly,
we want someone who gets social media — not just someone who knows where the "schedule post" button is.
Bring ideas. Try things. Pay attention to what's working.
? Paid Advertising
You'll work alongside our Head of Marketing to execute our paid advertising strategy across platforms such as Meta and Google.
You'll help
- Build campaigns, ad sets and ads from an established strategy
- Upload and organise creative
- Create and test different hooks, formats and creative variations
- Check tracking, URLs and campaign setup
- Keep our creative testing organised
- Monitor basic campaign performance
- Help identify winning and losing creative
You don't need to be an expert media buyer when you walk through the door. If you already have Meta or Google Ads experience, fantastic.
If you don't, but you're commercially minded and keen to learn, we'll teach you.
? Email & SMS
You'll help bring our email and SMS strategy to life in Klaviyo.
We'll provide the strategy, audience, copy and creative direction, and you'll help build it — segments, layouts, products, buttons, mobile QA, scheduling and flows.
As you develop, there'll be plenty of opportunity to contribute ideas and take greater ownership.
? Shopify & eCommerce
You'll help keep our online store looking sharp and working properly.
That includes
- Routine Shopify updates
- Updating banners, imagery, FAQs and product pages
- Assisting with landing pages
- Uploading approved copy and creative
- Making minor theme or coding changes where you're comfortable
- Helping with basic CRO testing and improvements
- Spotting anything that doesn't look or work quite right
You'll get a front-row seat to how a growing eCommerce business actually operates. Stock, Orders & Fulfilment
Marketing doesn't stop when someone clicks Buy Now.
You'll also help keep the day-to-day eCommerce operation running smoothly — monitoring stock availability across our warehouses, keeping inventory information accurate, assisting with order fulfilment, coordinating with our warehouse and delivery partners and making sure orders don't fall through the cracks.
You'll also help troubleshoot straightforward fulfilment issues and keep customers updated when needed.
Helping Our Customers
You'll be the first line for straightforward customer enquiries relating to products, orders, tracking, pre-orders and basic troubleshooting.
Great marketing means very little if the customer experience afterwards sucks.
We want customers to enjoy dealing with FYR as much as they enjoy cooking on our products.
Making Sure Things Actually Happen
Ideas are easy. Execution is what matters.
You'll help maintain our marketing and project calendars, keep deadlines visible, follow up outstanding work from contractors and flag blockers before they become problems.
We want someone who gradually gets to the point where they don't always need to be told what to do next.
You see something that needs doing — and you make it happen.
? Who we're looking for
You definitely don't need to tick every box.
We're deliberately open to someone earlier in their career who has loads of potential and wants the opportunity to learn quickly.
You might have 1–2 years of marketing/eCommerce experience.
You might be a recent marketing graduate who has been creating content for years.
You might have built your own TikTok, Instagram or YouTube account.
You might have been making videos, running social accounts or building things online just because you enjoy it.
We're more interested in what you can do and how you think than having the perfect résumé.
Ideally
- You're comfortable with Canva, CapCut, Adobe or similar creative tools
- You've got a good eye for video and understand what makes people stop scrolling
- You can look at raw footage and identify the moments worth using
- You're comfortable filming content as well as editing it
- You understand Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube
- You're comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude and interested in learning what's coming next
- You've had some exposure to platforms like Shopify and Klaviyo — or you're confident you can learn them quickly
- You're interested in eCommerce and how brands grow
- You're organised and can manage multiple projects without things disappearing into a black hole
- You take initiative rather than waiting for someone to give you a checklist
- You're happy to experiment, learn and occasionally get things wrong
- You're commercially curious and interested in understanding whether the things we create actually sell products
And if you happen to love BBQ, food or outdoor cooking, that's a pretty nice bonus. ? What you'll get
$60,000–$65,000 + super, depending on experience, with a formal performance and salary review after your first three months.
More importantly, this isn't intended to be a role where you do the same tasks forever.
We're looking for someone we can invest in.
As FYR grows and your capability develops, there is a genuine opportunity to take greater ownership across content, eCommerce and digital marketing and progress into more senior marketing roles.
You'll also get
- Exposure to virtually every part of a growing eCommerce business
- Real responsibility early in your career
- Hands-on mentoring from our Head of Marketing and founders
- Access to leading eCommerce coaching, training and resources
- Opportunities to experiment with new technology and AI
- Plenty of creative freedom
- A small team where good ideas can actually get implemented
- A business that's growing quickly enough for your role to grow with it
One final thing... We're a BBQ company.
We don't take ourselves too seriously.
But we do take the work seriously.
We care about making cool stuff, looking after our customers, moving quickly and building a brand people genuinely want to be part of.
So if the idea of spending your week creating content, launching campaigns, experimenting with AI, learning eCommerce and occasionally staring at slow-motion footage of ridiculously juicy meat sounds pretty valuable...
We should probably talk.
? How to apply
Send us your résumé and a short note telling us why this role appeals to you at
[email protected].
But we'd much rather see what you can do than just read about it.
Please also send us three examples of things you've created.
They absolutely don't need to come from a fancy professional portfolio.
It could be
- A Reel or TikTok
- A video you've filmed or edited
- A social post
- An ad or graphic
- A uni project
- A YouTube video
- Something you've created for your own account
- Anything else you think shows us your creative side
Tell us which one you're most proud of and why. We're looking for creativity, initiative and potential — not perfection.
If you've got those, we'd love to hear from you. ?
