What you'll be doing

This exciting leadership opportunity will see you partner with the Head of Department to provide operational and professional leadership across Nutrition and Dietetics services at Westmead Hospital. You will help drive strategic priorities, support workforce development, oversee service delivery and maintain an advanced clinical role to ensure the highest standards of patient-centred care.

- Provide operational leadership and management to ensure high-quality, safe and efficient Nutrition and Dietetics services that meet performance, quality and budget objectives.

- Lead workforce activities including recruitment, performance development, supervision, rostering, leave management and professional mentoring of Dietitians.

- Drive evidence-based practice, clinical governance, service evaluation,



quality improvement, research and strategic service development initiatives.

- Deliver advanced clinical expertise and manage a clinical caseload, providing specialist consultation for complex patient care where required.

- Act as Deputy to the Head of Department, providing leadership and continuity of service across the department and broader Allied Health services.

- Qualification: Recognised Degree in Dietetics & Nutrition, acceptable to the Dietitians Association

Selection Criteria

1. Recognised Degree in Dietetics & Nutrition, acceptable to the Dietitians Association. Higher degree in Nutrition and Dietetics/Public Health or research or management qualifications or working towards the same.



Applicant will have substantial postgraduate Dietetics & Nutrition clinical practice and supervision skills.

2. Proven ability to lead, develop, coordinate and evaluate Dietetics & Nutrition services. This will include a demonstrated ability in strategic clinical planning and the provision of a patient focused, comprehensive, high quality and cost-effective clinical service.

3. Demonstrated excellent communication skills, initiative, time management and commitment to clinical team building. Demonstrated competence in conflict resolution skills.

4. Demonstrated ability to implement and improve patient safety, patient flow, continuum of care, and waiting times for treatment. Experience in quality management.

5. Demonstrated effective management of human and financial resources. Experience with the administrative duties involved in the management of a Department of Dietetics and Nutrition. Relevant experience in staff management, including performance management and the co-ordination of the work of the professional staff.

6. Understanding of Dietetics & Nutrition clinical and workforce planning issues.

7. Experience and commitment to teaching, research and staff training.

8. Driver's license
