Longreach Childcare Services offers long‑day care, a Kindergarten program, before & after school care, and vacation care for children from six weeks to 12 years. We’re the main centre‑based childcare provider in town. Our philosophy centres on inclusion, respect, creativity, family partnership, and meeting each child’s individual developmental needs. We provide a natural, nurturing and play‑based learning environment, both indoors and outdoors.

About the role:

As an Early Childhood Teacher with Educational Leader role you will:

- Plan and deliver a play‑based educational program guided by the EYLF, Queensland Kindergarten Guidelines or My Time Our Place, depending on the child’s age group.
- Undertake the Educational Leader role, providing educational leadership across the service and supporting educators to deliver high-quality learning and development programs.
- Mentor and support educators in their planning, documentation, assessment and reflective practice, encouraging continuous improvement in educational practice.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, stimulating and nurturing environment; supporting each child’s wellbeing, sense of belonging, autonomy, creativity, and development.
- Build respectful, supportive partnerships with children and their families; value each family’s culture, background and input into the learning program.
- Observe, document and support children’s development, adapting programs to meet individual needs and interests. Encourage self-expression, problem-solving and self-help skills.
- Support centre routines, safety and sustainability practices — including encouraging respect for the environment, engaging children in caring for plants, recycling and eco‑friendly practices (reflecting our commitment to sustainability).

About you:

- Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education (or approved equivalent ACECQA qualification) per regulatory standards.



Diploma-qualified candidates can also be considered.
- Experience working with young children (in childcare, long-day care or early childhood settings); new graduates may be considered depending on centre needs.
- Current child‑safety clearance (e.g. Blue Card for QLD), and up-to-date First Aid / CPR / Anaphylaxis & Asthma certificates (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong commitment to child‑centred care, inclusion, respect, collaboration, teamwork.
- Excellent communication, adaptability, empathy, and willingness to engage with children, families and other educators.
