The City of Wanneroo is seeking an experienced Economic Development Advisor to join our Advocacy & Economic Development team on a short-term basis. This is an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing local government environment, providing advice and delivering projects that support the City’s economic development priorities and outcomes.
About the role
Reporting to the Manager Advocacy & Economic Development, you will:
• Provide high-quality economic development advice and support across a range of projects and initiatives.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with businesses, industry, government agencies, consultants and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to projects and initiatives that support the City’s economic development objectives.
• Manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
• Provide informed advice using sound judgement, research, analysis and knowledge of relevant policies and practices.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, external stakeholders and the broader business community.
About you
We are looking for someone who can bring:
• Demonstrated experience in economic development, business development, government, policy or a related field.
- Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
with the ability to engage confidently with a diverse range of stakeholders.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Sound judgement and the ability to provide practical, evidence-based advice.
- A collaborative, proactive and adaptable approach.
Genuine Flexibility
• This is a part-time, short term role (60.8 hours per fortnight) 4 days per week
• Start and finish times can be adjusted within a 7am–7pm span depending on your preferences and team needs
