About the Project

Due to continued project success, Redpath is seeking experienced Electrical Superintendents to join our Shaft Sinking Maintenance Division on the Appin Project in NSW.

This project involves the excavation of two vertical shafts to provide critical mine access and ventilation infrastructure. We are particularly interested in candidates from the South West Sydney region, including Campbelltown and surrounding areas, although FIFO and DIDO options with accommodation may be available for highly experienced shaft sinking personnel.

Candidates with experience in shaft sinking, tunnelling, underground mining, construction, fixed plant, or mobile plant maintenance are encouraged to apply.

5/2 & 4/3 for locals or 8/6 for FIFO

The Opportunity As Electrical Superintendent, you will lead, mentor, and coordinate electrical teams to safely deliver project outcomes while maintaining operational excellence and statutory compliance.

The position will report to the Project Manager and play a crucial role in ensuring the secure operation and maintenance of multiple powered winding systems and the auxiliary shaft electrical equipment. The ideal candidate will possess leadership skills, and a proven track record plant and asset maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the maintenance and reliability of powered winding systems and shaft electrical infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
- Conduct route cause analysis to identify and address electrical and control system issues, implementing effective solutions to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure coordination of electrical works between engineering and operational departments.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the electrical team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Monitor and analyse powered winding system performance data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

What You Bring

- Trade qualification or relevant tertiary qualification (Electrical preferred)




- Proven experience with powered winding systems and coal mining equipment (highly desirable)
- Leadership experience managing crews in high risk environments
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Strong strategic planning skills, with the ability to develop and execute long term plans.
- Ability to prioritise and adapt in a dynamic environment
- Current driver's licence & ability to obtain National Police Clearance
